Beaver Dam Preschool

Beaver Dam Preschool held it's first classes in the fall of 1981.  The sole teacher at that time

was Pam McFarland.  She started with a total of 17 students: 7, 4-Year-Old students and 10,

3-Year-Old students.  The classes were held in the basement of the church and that is where it

stayed until the preschool was invited to expand our program at Akron Elementary in 2003.

Of course we wouldn't consider the move without keeping our Christian based program.

The philosophy of the Beaver Dam Preschool is:

To Provide a Secure Loving Environment that will assist each child in developing their social, emotional, and cognitive skills to their greatest potential.

      Our Mission:

We believe that children reach their greatest potential when provided with developmentally appropriate materials.  Beaver Dam Preschool will target all aspects of child growth including social competence, positive self-esteem, and learning through a variety of experiences.  We believe that children should have the opportunity to learn through exploration and discovery.

Teacher Lisa Adams and her assistant achieve this goal through music, social play, gross & fine motor activities, sensory play, constructive play, fantasy play, role playing and with games.

Beaver Dam Preschool is a developmentally appropriate and child focused preschool program for the children of the community.

    Our 3-Year-old class meets on Tuesday & Thursday from 8:45 - 11:15.

Our 4-Year-old classes meet on Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 8:45 - 11:15 and the afternoon class meets from 12:00 - 2:30.

Our only requirement is that all students are toilet trained and students must be 3 or 4 by August 1st.
